Stockholm Green Digital Finance is a not-for-profit centre tasked to accelerate green finance and investment through fintech innovations
To successfully deliver on the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, trillions of dollars of public and private capital is needed. In the last few years, an unprecedented momentum mobilizing private capital for these goals has manifested.
More and stronger policies and regulations are emerging at steady speed, new collaborations between companies, regulators, and financial centres are being formed, and industry leadership has never been greater. All focusing on one single outcome: to support the acceleration of sustainable finance.
Yet, persistent barriers prevail. And with only 12 years to go, it is evident that new creative solutions are needed to effectively support financial actors to fulfil their potential as creators of a new sustainable world economy.
Stockholm Green Digital Finance was set up in response. The centre was launched in May 2017 at the G20 GreenInvest meeting in Berlin with the mission to make use of the unique potential of Fintech innovations to offer new inventive solutions to old paradigm barriers.
